Fairfax is a neighborhood within the central region of Los Angeles, California. It is a small sized, medium density, urban area bordered by the City of West Hollywood to the North, 3rd Street to the South, Fairfax Avenue to the West, and La Brea Avenue to the East. It is known for its diverse population, cultural and entertainment offerings, and its central location near popular shopping and dining destinations.The real estate market in Fairfax is diverse, with a mix of single-family homes, apartments, and condominiums available for purchase or rent. The single-family homes are predominantly built between 1920-1950 with a recent high influx of new Modern style homes between 2010-2022. There is a wide range of housing styles which consists of Traditional, Mediterranean, Tudor, French, Modern, and Spanish.Fairfax is home to a number of cultural and entertainment offerings, including shopping on Melrose Avenue, Farmers Market, the Grove shopping center, and the Petersen Automotive Museum. The neighborhood is also located near several parks, including Pan Pacific Park and the Beverly-Fairfax Historic District, which offer a variety of recreational activities.
